TETRA has been proposed as a mobile communications system for the emergency services - it is NOT for mobile phones. At the time of writing, the Ambulance service have rejected it, the Fire Service are taking advice (and Devon Fire Authority have refused any more masts on any of their property |
until the health issue is conclusively resolved) and the Police Federation have |
(a) expressed serious concerns over the health issue; |
(b) arranged a conference in October just to consider TETRA and health. |
(See link to Police Federation web site, on ‘other links’ page) |
There is deep concern over potential health risks from TETRA, particularly in respect of the pulsed radiation (Like a strobe light, on and off 17.6 times a second, but microwaves) pulsing at a rate that could affect the human brain. |

Dr. Debbie Eklund of New Zealand has documented research that shows the Danger Zone around a mast to extend 2 km (1.25 miles) from the base - see Barry Trower’s Report (link on this site) for details. |

The following links will display information that you could find helpful in ‘getting to know’ the TETRA situation, and in asking meaningful questions or responding in an informed way to other people’s questions or comments. The Skeleton in the Stewart Report Cupboard - A close but not too complicated look at bits in the Report on Mobile Phones, and the NRPB Report after it. |
A must if you want a clear understanding of the pulsing hazard. |

Arguments Put by the Supporters of TETRA - and reasons why we consider those arguments not valid. Will help you defend your position. |

A Presentation of the Case Against TETRA - prepared for someone to present at a local meeting, to the Parish Council, to a Planning Committee etc. (But note Planning Meetings may only allow 3 minutes - you’d have to shorten it). |
